Youth Ministry

Are you a looking to connect with other Catholic young people?

St. Albert the Great recognizes the importance of providing preteens and teens with the support they need.

The Youth Ministry of our parish offers a safe, friendly environment for youth in grades 6 and up to meet other teens, have fun, and develop a personal relationship with Jesus Christ.

Defining a Youth Leader

A Youth Leader is typically someone 14 to 20+ years of age and interested in a leadership role.  These Youth Leaders will commit to attend every Friday night from 6:30 to 8:30 PM (Youth Leader nights plus the ALL-Youth nights).  We will play some games and do activities to help grow leadership skills in working with younger children and for any volunteer time out in the community.

At Youth Leader meeting nights, Parent Coordinators will help Youth plan, organize materials and practice their role for the ALL-Youth night the following week where they will help lead the fun games, activities and discussion groups.

Anyone wanting to sign up as a Youth Leader please email  youth@stalbertthegreat.ca  and we can send you the required application forms for this position.

Defining ALL-Youth

ALL-Youth participants are children from Grades 6 & up (approximate ages 11 to 20+) are welcome to join or start at any time throughout the year.  ALL-Youth nights are a fun opportunity to meet other young people through engaging games and discussions and learn about our Catholic Faith.  We are excited to see you every other Friday night from 6:30 to 8:30 PM!

Anyone wanting to sign up to attend Youth Group please email  youth@stalbertthegreat.ca  and we can send you the required application forms or stop in at our ALL-Youth nights and we will have forms available at the door.

The goals of the Youth Ministry of our parish are:

  • To promote spiritual and personal growth of the youth, by providing them with the guidance and support to develop a personal relationship with God through prayer, sharing, reflection, and reading of the Scriptures.
  • To provide a welcoming and inviting atmosphere for the youth; to make them feel part of the community of faith, by providing a friendly environment that values young people, their ideas; and that responds to their needs.
  • To encourage the engagement and active participation of the youth in the life of the faith community by providing them with spaces and opportunities for their action.
  • To promote the active participation of parents in the youth ministry through different activities at home and/or at the parish.
  • To facilitate a support system for youth through group meetings and mentoring programs, where they can receive support to help them integrate the faith component to their daily lives.
  • To form new leaders that can become mentors of other youth groups and/or active members of related ministries within the community.
