Today’s Gospel reading from John recounts the familiar story of the wedding feast at Cana when Jesus launched His public ministry by performing His first miracle at his mother’s request. In the midst of the feast, the Blessed Mother noticed that the wine had run out and pointed out the problem to Jesus. Then, she gave the servants instructions that are equally applicable to us modern-day stewards, saying, “Do whatever He tells you.” Jesus gives the servants a simple and seemingly mundane task, telling them to fill some stone jars with water. They did what He told them to do. And Jesus used their obedience in the accomplishment of that simple task to perform His first miracle, turning the water into the choicest wine. Our Lord didn’t have to include those servants in order to perform this miracle — He chose to. And today, 2,000 plus years later, He still chooses to include us in the performance of His miracles through our cooperation with Him in using the gifts and talents He has given us. What a privilege! Let us take care to listen to our Blessed Mother: let’s examine our lives this week to see if we really are “doing whatever He tells us,” cooperating with God to make the best use of the gifts He has given us for the benefit of those around us. If we all take this call seriously, He will perform miracles in our families and our parish. Let us take care to listen to our Blessed Mother. SUNDAY FEBRUARY 2nd THE PRESENTATION OF THE LORD & THE WORLD DAY OF CONSECRATED LIFE 5:00PM CANDLE MASS
JOIN US on Sunday Feb 2nd, at our 5:00PM Holy Mass as we host the Religious in our Community and celebrate The Feast Day of The Presentation of the Lord & The World Day of Consecrated Life with a candle Mass celebrated by Bishop McGrattan.
The call to Consecrated life is a profound gift to both the individual, the communities of Consecrated life, and the broader faith community of the local Church. Within our Diocese, we are blessed to have celibate Consecrated persons, each living out their unique vocations with deep devotion to the Lord in imitation of His Gospel way of life and the spirituality of their institutes. These include Religious Brothers and Priests, Religious Sisters, a Diocesan Hermit, other Consecrated men and women, as well as candidates for Consecrated Virginity.
Consecrated life is a way of profound love and service to Christ and His Church. Through their commitment to the evangelical counsels of poverty, chastity, and obedience according to their particular call from God, they contribute uniquely to the life of the local and universal Church. Their dedication not only deepens their own spiritual life but also enriches our Diocese with their witness of faith, service, and prayer. We are deeply grateful for their presence, which continually inspires and strengthens our Catholic community.
You are welcome to join the various Consecrated persons in their celebration on February 2nd every year, where their shared commitment to Christ is honoured during the World Day for Consecrated Life.

2024 Donation Update from Calgary Diocese
The Calgary Diocese is aware that the federal government has announced its intention to amend the Income Tax Act to extend the 2024 charitable donation deadline to February 28, 2025. However, please note this change has not yet been passed into legislation. Therefore, December 31, 2024, remains the final day to ensure donors receive a 2024 charitable tax credit. To avoid any potential disruption in the event the proposed legislation is not enacted, the Diocese recommend donors make their donations as follows: - Mailed Donations: Must be postmarked by Canada Post on or before December 31st. Given the recent Canada Post strike and potential delays, we strongly encourage donations to be made online.
- Online Donations: Tax receipts will reflect the date of the donation. Donations made after 21:59 MT on December 31st will be considered donations for the 2025 tax year.
- Dropped Off Donations: Donations must be received at the Diocese/Parish before end of work day on December 31st. Please ensure that the envelope is date stamped by the account/parish office when it was received and must be kept with the deposit in case of a CRA audit.
Any donations received on or after Jan 1, 2025, will apply to the 2025 tax year.

Camilla, Clara and Katrina have been settling into their new life in Canada. This Christmas was especially meaningful as it was the first in many years that they were not alone. They have expressed deep gratitude for the warmth and support of their new church family.
Camilla is now ready to find stable employment and has begun her job search. With experience in dental, medical, and pharmacy administration, as well as housekeeping and cleaning, she brings valuable skills and is eager to contribute to her new community. Her English is steadily improving, and she is excited about the opportunity to work.
If you or someone you know can help connect them with job opportunities or offer guidance in their search, please reach out. Your support can truly make a difference in helping this family build a brighter future in Canada. We ask for your prayers, that they may find fruitful employment.

Krakusy Polish Folk Dance Association is accepting new registrations. We have been around for almost 25 years and are inviting children, especially boys from 5 years of age all the way to teenagers 15+ to join our ensemble. Although the majority of our program focuses on traditional polish dances, we also practice modern and western routines along with the basics of ballet. We offer classes for three different age groups. What really sets us apart is that sense of close knit community where your child or teenager can make new friends, learn new skills, become a strong leader and have an opportunity to grow in virtues. We offer frequent optional team-building events for participants as well as entire families including picnics, roller skating, laser tag, get togethers to name a few. We perform at festivals, community events, church related events, private functions to name a few.
All of the above combined with low registration fees, professional instruction and heavily subsidized domestic and international travel options for all participants create an incredible community where your child and family can flourish.
